On 19th October, MST Golf Arena at The Gardens Mall celebrated Pink Out Day, all in support of breast cancer awareness. With participants dressed in shades of pink, the event was both educational and uplifting as MST Golf customers and employees came together to learn, share, and care.
The day kicked off with the “Know Your Lemons” workshop, a unique and interactive session by Cancer Research Malaysia. Nine participants gathered around, curious and eager to learn. Breast cancer is not something we can always spot just by looking. It often requires us to physically check for symptoms. That is where the clever idea of using lemons came in, thanks to Dr Corrine Ellsworth’s Know Your Lemons kit. Read on to find out more!
It was a brilliant and simple way to break down the barriers and taboos surrounding breast health. Participants got to touch and feel, learning how to identify symptoms through this hands-on approach.
After the insightful workshop, the focus shifted from awareness to wellness. Instructor Ho Yee took centre stage with a calming yet invigorating yoga session. Seven participants stretched and breathed through an hour of relaxation, grounding themselves after an emotional and informative morning. The session was the perfect way to wind down, leaving everyone feeling refreshed and connected, both to their bodies and to the cause.
This breast cancer awareness event is part of MST Golf Group’s sustainability initiative towards fostering collaborations with social partners. Pink Out Day was an open to public event. It was more than just learning. The event was about fostering a supportive community, reminding us all that health and wellbeing are journeys best taken together.
