Golf Consultant

Job Summary

The Golf Consultant role with MST Golf focuses on driving sales of hard goods, technical products, accessories, and apparel through both off-the-shelf and custom fitting services. Key responsibilities include managing inventory, building customer loyalty with VIPs and influencers, training staff on club fitting, product knowledge, and customer service, and executing grassroots programmes to attract customers. This role ensures the hard goods area operates smoothly, maintains display standards, and contributes to sales targets by offering a technical, customer-centered approach to sales and follow-up.

Responsibilities

  • To drive hard goods & technical products sales (both off-the-shelve & custom fitting) and add on sales to accessories and apparels.
  • Manage hard good & technical products stock levels.
  • Lead customers service & relationship building effort
    1. Customer loyalty
    2. Local influencers list (Low Handicappers, Club Champions, Head of golfing group, Teaching Pros)
    3. VIPs List – High Spenders
    4. Potential Corporate Client List
  • To train staff on club fittings and repairs, product knowledge, industry knowledge, salesmanship and customer service.
  • To embark golf knowledge to team members in the shop.
  • To execute local grass-roots programs to pull in customers (demos, product seeding, trial clubs at range)
  • Providing more technical approach of assisting customers such as golf swing & club specs instead of pure salesmanship, understands product info/specs, selling features and golf swing to recommend clubs, off-the-shelves vs custom fitting selling and after sales follow up.
  • Responsible for overall hard goods target.
  • Provide necessary report to Shop Manager on ways to increase hard goods sales.
  • Responsible for daily operations of the hard good area such as ordering of stocks, maintaining display SOP, overall cleanliness of the area.

Qualifications / Skills Needed

  • Minimum 1-2 years working on golf equipment, club, swing mechanics.
  • Fluent in Bahasa Melayu and English preferred.
