Alice Lee Chia Yee serves as our Independent Non-Executive Director, with over 30 years of experience in the legal profession.
Ms. Lee holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Malaya and was admitted to the Malaysian Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor in 1994. Additionally, she is a Notary Public, appointed by the Attorney General’s Chambers of Malaysia for a term from 7 September 2022 to 6 September 2024. She is also an affiliate member of the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia since 2022.
Ms. Lee commenced her legal career in February 1994 as a Legal Assistant with Heng & Mogan, progressing to Junior Partner in January 2001. Following the dissolution of the partnership in June 2002, she co-founded Heng & Co. in July 2002 and continues to serve as a Partner. Throughout her career, she has been involved in various areas of legal practice, including conveyancing (housing project developments, real estate, conventional, Islamic and corporate financing), as well as tenancies, leases and trust and succession matters.
She does not have any familial ties with any Director or major shareholder of the Company, nor does she have any conflict of interest or potential conflict of interest, including interest in any competing business with the Company and its subsidiaries. Ms. Lee does not hold any directorship in public companies and listed entities.
