This holiday season, MST Golf brought festive cheer with a Christmas #GolfForGood initiative hosting 26 refugee children from Matu Social Organization (MSO) for a day of fun, laughter, and first-time swings! Held at MST Golf Arena, The Gardens Mall, the day kicked off with an intro to golf, where the children learned the basics of the sport from gripping the club to swinging the clubs as they explored the indoor simulators, trying out fun games and challenges. Guided by MST Golf staff and volunteers, the children had a chance to experience the joy of golf for the first time in a supportive and festive environment!
We spoke to some of the children and here’s what they shared with us:
- 16-year-old Maya shared:
“I had so much fun today! I learned how to hit the ball, and I was so happy when I got it right. I’m afraid it could be addictive as I want to score higher!” - Another little boy said:
“I usually just play football, but today, it was fun learning something new.”
But what’s Christmas without a little magic? Just as the day wrapped up, Santa made a surprise appearance thanks to our jolly MST Golf Arena team! Santa handed out delicious gingerbread cookies and spreading smiles all around. The festivities continued with a heartwarming feast.
The Christmas #GolfForGood event reflects MST Golf Group’s commitment to “Empowering Community Engagement”, one of our key sustainability pillars and part of our Be Sustainable core value. The #GolfForGood initiative aims to use the power of golf to uplift underserved communities and, most importantly, to spread joy.
A big shoutout to MSO, and one of their learning partners, The Other School, for giving us the opportunity to bring joy to the children.
